Follow Cam Dillon's Trip to America

Taupo rider Cam Dillon has been chosen as the first recipient of the JIM HALL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP.
The Scholarship aims to provide talented junior moto cross riders  with a unique opportunity to taste what it is like to become an international rider and the first steps of making a career out of the sport.
Cameron will leave for America on the 20th of February and stay with co founder of the scholarship Ben Townley.
Ben and his wife Lucy will provide Cam and his mechanic (Richard Adamson) with all the support he will require, from race selection and bike preparation to entries, transport and accommodation.
"Through my sources in New Zealand and through results and coverage on the internet, I will keep an eye on talented young riders from all over NZ , and from that I will select a rider who has the right mix of ability and attitude to succeed overseas," said Townley.
"I know as well as any one how difficult it is to crack the international motocross scene and I see this as an opportunity to give something back to the sport I love, Townley said.
The Taupo Motorcycle Club is delighted to be involved in such a scholarship, which fits with its vision  of developing New Zealand's next world champion, said president Geoff Hall. 
The scholarship is named in honour of Jim Hall, who died recently and was an inaugural member of the club and an important figure in New Zealand Motocross. 
'' I leave for America on the 20th Feb. and on arrival go and watch the Atlanta round of the AMA Supercoss series, then the following day go to Ben and Lucy's place where I will stay for the next two weeks and train with Ben, then we travel to Texas where I will take part in two American Spring National races,'' Dillon said.
It will be a dream come true to race in America and see where I stack up against some of the best amateurs there, and to get a insight on how things work in the professional world of moto cross''
