Follow Cam Dillon's Trip to America
Cam Dillon Race Report 3 continued:.
They got threw 6 races as the rain started to get heavy..They pulled pin 4 the day.
Thursday: They didnt start racing till 12,so that the track could dry out..had my 3rd race off the week which was the 250 b modified class.I got off to a great start behind eli tomac too find my self in 2nd.Thourgh out the race i was battling with redbull hondas Brandon may.WAs in 2nd on the last lap and silly mistake cost me 2nd to finish 3rd witch is a great result 4 me as he a top rider over here..fourstroke class..got a good start on the little 250 beacuse i was up against 450.I found my self lining up to james stewarts lillte brother(malcom stewart) It was a hard race as the 450s had the power on me and i ended up finishing 9th.
Friday:it got rained off as the track was under water and the frezzing conditions made things worse(5 degress)
Saturday:was up in the last chance quilifing for the 250B stock class found my self in 6th spot,went down twice witch cost me a quilifing spot..schoolboy 14-16 another bad race as i got taken down early in the moto as with the speed over her and short races i was pushing hard to fight back and went down again..
Sunday:After a great 1st moto in the 250 B modified,i was hoping to get another good result.Got off to a good start i was in 8th at the end off lap 1 then.got hit hard in a corner by another rider was so close to crashing but managed to save it.come round too see that they had red flaged the race because off a rider that had fallin and was seriously injured.was gutted as i was in a good possion headed back to the line for a restart and my mechanic saw oil leeking from the motor.a closer inspection reveiled i had a 2 inch gash in my motor from my early incidient in the moto.so i had to pull out of the restart. was gutted but happy at same time as the motor would have blown up within the next lap. and that would have been very expensive. my dad and mechanic richard had to work fast to fix it as was back up to the line 25min for last race of the week which was 4 stroke class. i just made it to the line in time. My start was really good concidering i was up against the bigger 450cc bikes. was in 4th hitting the big up hill and with my bike been only a 250cc got passed by 3 riders. as the moto wore on a couple more would pass me in same spot. i finished the race in 9th which gave me a 7th overall for that class.
